BUDS THEATRE COMPANY

Company Info: Buds Theatre Company was established in 2007 with the aim of providing a professional platform for our youth members who have matured and completed their studies. Many of them remained interested in pursuing the theatre as a career and Buds Theatre Company aims to provide them with this opportunity. It is a not-for-profit group and has recently been established as a society with the Registry of Societies. Our productions are funded by donations and grants, receiving funding from arts organisations and private foundations on a project-by-project basis.

CHECKPOINT THEATRE

Company Info: Checkpoint Theatre was founded in 2002 in Singapore. Its Joint Artistic Directors, Claire Wong and Huzir Sulaiman, are both directors, actors, and writers, and they bring this multi-disciplinary approach to Checkpoint’s work. Checkpoint’s focus is on the marriage of strong writing and acting – the traditional foundations of theatre – to the creative aesthetics of new media and technology. DREAM ACADEMY

Company Info: The Dream Academy Productions was set up by Selena Tan in the year 2000. Since then, Dream Academy has produced a series of stand-up comedies including Maybe Knot, Report Cuts, Medi Cares, PS21 Positive Signs, Wanton Me and Revenge of the Dim Sum Dollies. NINE YEARS THEATRE 九年剧场

Company Info: Nine Years Theatre is a Singapore Mandarin theatre company that is co-founded by Nelson Chia (Artistic Director) and Mia Chee (Company Director). The company believes in the accumulative process of art. This is reflected in our three-prong artistic direction: we are concerned with the development of our creation, with the issues of long-term, regular actor training, and the building of audienceship through knowledge sharing. The name “Nine Years” is symbolic of our commitment to grow these efforts year by year. Nine Years Theatre does not limit its range of productions by genre and scale.
